Two decades of development. Proven in production.

Ontec’s tanks and water treatment are the result of about twenty years of testing and development, now proven in production at OFS Måløy.

Story

Simplify, standardise, industrialise.

Ontec’s aim is to industrialise land-based farming by making it simpler, more efficient and standardised. Water treatment moves to the tank or the tank group, the central plant and the large underground pipes disappear, and every design choice is tested on the group’s own fish in Måløy.

The first pilot ran in Norway in 2001–03, followed by pilots in Ireland in 2010 and Scotland in 2016. The fourth-generation pilot plant at Ontec Academy opened in Måløy in December 2022. Pilot 1 was delivered at 2 kg in July 2023, and pilot 2 at 99% superior grade in November 2024. Next is a Ø10 m parametric hybrid IPU as a finished product, followed by the first commercial stage.
